Important Warnings
Source: SPC Sections 4.4 & 4.5
Fluoroquinolones should be reserved for clinical conditions that have responded poorly, or are expected to respond poorly, to other classes of antimicrobials — use of this product should be considered carefully
Use should be based on identification and susceptibility testing of the target pathogen(s) wherever possible; if not possible, therapy should be based on local or regional epidemiological data
An antibiotic with a lower risk of antimicrobial resistance selection should be used as first-line treatment where susceptibility testing supports this approach
Treatment of Mycoplasma spp infections may not eradicate the organism; resistance has been reported in Mycoplasma synoviae in the EU
Cross-resistance has been reported between enrofloxacin and other fluoroquinolones in target pathogens including Escherichia coli
Fluoroquinolone use during the growth phase of birds, combined with a marked and prolonged increase in water intake (e.g. due to high temperatures), may potentially be associated with damage to articular cartilage
In vitro antagonism has been shown when combining fluoroquinolones with bacteriostatic agents such as macrolides, tetracyclines, or phenicols — avoid concurrent use
Simultaneous administration of substances containing aluminium or magnesium may impair the absorption of enrofloxacin
This product must not be mixed with other veterinary medicinal products
Human safety: People with known hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones should avoid contact with this product
Avoid contact with skin and eyes; in case of accidental spillage, rinse immediately with water and seek medical advice, showing the package leaflet to the physician
Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly after use
Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst using this product
