Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Kidney Care is a complete dietetic dry food formulated to support kidney function in adult dogs with chronic or acute renal insufficiency. The formula features controlled levels of high-quality protein (13.9%) from dried whole eggs and pea protein, with restricted phosphorus (0.27%) and low sodium (0.16%) to help reduce the workload on the kidneys. With a fat content of 20.5% and enriched with omega-3 fatty acids (1.1%) from fish oil (2%), the diet includes the proprietary ActivBiome+ Kidney Defense prebiotic blend (1.1%) containing betaine, oat bran, and fructo-oligosaccharides, developed to support the gut microbiome and help support kidney function. Enhanced Appetite Trigger (E.A.T.) technology is developed to support appetite and encourage food intake. Enriched with L-carnitine (531 mg/kg), Vitamin E (575 mg/kg), Vitamin C (90 mg/kg), and beta-carotene (1.5 mg/kg) for antioxidant support.

Adult dogs with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) — IRIS stages 3 and 4
Dogs with CKD at all IRIS stages with proteinuria
Dogs with acute kidney insult
Dogs with uraemic encephalopathy
Dogs with early heart disease (where sodium restriction is beneficial)
Not Suitable For:
Growing puppies
Pregnant or nursing dogs (gestation/lactation)
Dogs with pancreatitis or history of pancreatitis
Dogs with hyperlipidaemia
