Hill's Prescription Diet w/d Diabetes Care is a complete dietetic dry food with chicken formulated to support the management of diabetes mellitus in adult dogs of normal weight or mild overweight. The formula features low levels of sugars (total sugars 1.5%) and an optimal blend of soluble and insoluble fibres (crude fibre 12.5%) designed to help regulate blood sugar levels and support a healthy weight. With a protein content of 20.7% and fat content of 11.4%, the diet includes high quality protein and effective L-carnitine levels (361mg/kg) to help maintain lean muscle mass. The S+OXSHIELD formula promotes a urinary environment that reduces the risk of developing struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. Carbohydrate sources include wheat, maize, barley, and oats for sustained energy release.
