Opticlox Eye Ointment 16.7% w/w is a prescription penicillin antibiotic eye ointment licensed for use in horses, cattle, sheep, dogs and cats. Containing cloxacillin (as cloxacillin benzathine) as the active substance, it works by binding to penicillin-binding proteins to treat ocular infections caused by susceptible organisms. Susceptibility testing should be performed before initiating therapy where possible. Opticlox is a POM-V product and requires a valid veterinary prescription before it can be dispensed.

Directions for Use
This is a prescription medication and must be used exactly as directed by your veterinary surgeon. For topical ocular use only. Evert the lower eyelid and instil a steady flow of ointment into the lower conjunctival sac. Normally a single application is sufficient, but treatment may be repeated after 48–72 hours if necessary. Where only one eye is infected, it is recommended that both eyes are treated to prevent cross-infection, treating the uninfected eye first. Each syringe is for single use only and must be discarded after treatment. Refer to the dispensing label or product datasheet for full application instructions.
