PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Royal Canin Hepatic is a complete dietetic dry feed for adult dogs, formulated to support liver function in the case of chronic liver insufficiency and for the reduction of copper in the liver. The formula contains adapted levels of high-quality vegetable proteins (protein sources: 13.6%) with 78.3% highly digestible ingredients, providing a moderate protein content of 16% to reduce the workload on the liver while maintaining essential nutrition. With a low copper content of just 3 mg/kg total, the diet helps minimise copper accumulation in liver cells. The high energy content (3881 kcal/kg) reduces the volume of meals needed, decreasing intestinal load. Enriched with omega-3 fatty acids (0.85%) including EPA/DHA (0.41%), taurine (1.9 g/kg), and essential vitamins including Vitamin C (300 mg/kg) and Vitamin E (500 mg/kg) to support overall liver health and immune function.

SUITABILITY

Suitable For:

• Adult dogs with chronic hepatitis associated with liver dysfunction
• Dogs with portosystemic shunt
• Dogs with hepatic encephalopathy
• Dogs with copper storage disease

Not Suitable For:

• Dogs with pancreatitis or history of pancreatitis
• Dogs with hyperlipidaemia
• Dogs with acute hepatitis without hepatic encephalopathy (use Gastrointestinal or Recovery instead)
• Growing puppies (growth phase)
• Pregnant or nursing dogs (gestation/lactation)

SERVING RECOMMENDATION

Frequency: Divide daily amount into several small meals throughout the day to reduce postprandial hepatic load Transition: Introduce gradually over 7-10 days Water: Ensure fresh water is always available at all times Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Reseal bag after opening. Initially feed Hepatic for up to 6 months. Lifetime feeding may be necessary in cases of chronic disease. It is recommended that a veterinarian's opinion be sought before use or before extending the period of use.
