Complete dietetic feed formulated to support the reduction of urate and cystine urinary stones in adult dogs through low purine proteins and moderate sulphur amino acid content.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary U/C is a complete dietetic dry food designed for adult dogs requiring nutritional support for urinary health, specifically the management of metabolic uroliths including urate, xanthine, and cystine stones. The formula features a selection of low-purine proteins (including egg powder and wheat gluten) to support the reduction of urate stone formation, alongside a limited intake of proteins and controlled sulphur amino acid levels to support the reduction of cystine stone formation. The diet provides urine-alkalising properties through calcium carbonate (1.77%) and potassium citrate (0.2%), with protein at 18% and fat at 15%. A synergistic antioxidant complex supports the neutralisation of free radicals, while a tailored nutrient complex supports the skin's natural protective barrier function.
