PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Royal Canin Veterinary Renal Small Dog is a complete dietetic dry food formulated for the support of renal function in small breed dogs (up to 10kg) with chronic renal insufficiency. The formula contains a restricted level of phosphorus (0.2%) and a moderate content of high-quality, highly digestible L.I.P. proteins (14%) to help support kidney function. The adapted energy content (18% fat) helps reduce meal volume, supporting dogs that may experience a reduced appetite. EPA and DHA essential fatty acids (0.55%) from fish oil and a complex of antioxidants are included. The kibble size, shape, and aromatic profile are specifically adapted for small dogs to help stimulate appetite in cases of food aversion. This product should only be fed when recommended by a veterinary professional.

INGREDIENTS

Composition: Rice, maize flour, animal fats, maize gluten, maize, hydrolysed poultry proteins, beet pulp, wheat gluten*, minerals, fish oil, vegetable fibres, soya oil, psyllium husks and seeds, fructo-oligosaccharides, mono- and diglycerides of palmitic and stearic acids esterified with citric acid, marigold meal.

Protein sources: Maize gluten (8%), hydrolysed poultry proteins (4.7%), wheat gluten (2.5%).

*L.I.P.: protein selected for its very high digestibility.

SUITABILITY

Suitable For:

• Small breed adult dogs (up to 10kg) with azotaemic Chronic Kidney Disease (IRIS stage 2 to stage 4)
• Small breed adult dogs with Chronic Kidney Disease with proteinuria (IRIS stage 1 to 4)
• Dogs requiring appetite stimulation due to renal-related food aversion

Not Suitable For:

• Puppies and growing dogs
• Pregnant or nursing dogs (gestation/lactation)
• Dogs with pancreatitis
• Dogs over 10kg body weight (use standard Renal formula)

SERVING RECOMMENDATION

Frequency: Divide daily amount into 2 meals Transition: Introduce gradually over 7-10 days, mixing with previous food Water: Ensure fresh water is always available at all times Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Reseal bag after opening. Feed initially for up to 6 months in cases of chronic renal insufficiency. Veterinary advice should be sought before use and before extending the period of use.
