PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Royal Canin Urinary S/O Small Dog is a complete dietetic dry food for small breed adult dogs (under 10kg), formulated for the dissolution of struvite stones and the reduction of struvite stone recurrence through urine undersaturating and acidifying properties. This specialist diet uses Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology to help lower the concentration of ions in urine, minimising the likelihood of both struvite and calcium oxalate stones forming. The formula contains a reduced level of magnesium (0.05%) and includes L.I.P. proteins selected for very high digestibility. The adapted kibble size encourages chewing to help support dental hygiene, with nutrients that help trap calcium in saliva to reduce tartar build-up. Enriched with EPA/DHA (0.22%) and fructo-oligosaccharides for digestive support.

SUITABILITY

Suitable For:

• Small breed adult dogs (under 10kg) with struvite uroliths (dissolution and management of recurrence)
• Small breed adult dogs with calcium oxalate uroliths (management of recurrence)
• Small breed dogs with bacterial cystitis and secondary struvite crystalluria (in association with appropriate antibiotherapy)

Not Suitable For:

• Dogs with chronic kidney disease (CKD)
• Dogs with heart disease where sodium restriction is sought
• Dogs currently receiving urine-acidifying medication
• Puppies (growth phase)
• Pregnant or nursing dogs (gestation/lactation)
• Dogs over 10kg (use standard Urinary S/O instead)
• Older dogs without prior renal function assessment (use Urinary S/O Ageing 7+ for dogs over 7 years)

SERVING RECOMMENDATION

Frequency: Divide daily amount into 2 meals Transition: Introduce gradually over 7–10 days. Feed for 5–12 weeks for dissolution of struvite stones and initially up to 6 months for reduction of struvite stone recurrence. Water: Ensure fresh water is always available — adequate water intake is essential to support urine dilution Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Reseal bag after opening.
